The Alchemy of 56: Celebrating My Birthday through the Lens of Reiki and Flow
Today, I am celebrating my 56th birthday.
In many traditions, reaching this chapter of life is seen as a time of true mastery—not because we have all the answers, but because we have finally learned how to stop forcing the river and simply flow with the current. Looking back at the decades behind me and standing firmly in the present, I am overwhelmed with gratitude for the journey.
As a Reiki practitioner, I spend my days working with the unseen, intelligent life-force energy that connects us all. But today, I am turning that awareness inward to reflect on what it means to hold 56 years of life, light, and lessons in my own energetic field.
The Numerology of 56: Harmony and Change
In the language of energy and numbers, 5 is the vibration of dynamic change, freedom, and transformation, while 6 represents harmony, nurturing, stability, and unconditional love.
Bringing them together into 56 feels incredibly intentional. It represents a sacred bridge: the ability to navigate life’s constant shifts and transformations while remaining deeply anchored in the heart. It is the energetic balance of soaring forward into new horizons while staying profoundly grounded in who I am.
Life as an Energy Attunement
If life is a series of energetic attunements, turning 56 feels like reaching a frequency of pure clarity. Over the years, the practices of Reiki have taught me that we don't just channel energy; we are energy. Every experience we encounter, every joy we celebrate, and even every challenge we overcome leaves an imprint on our spirit, shaping the unique vibration we offer to the world.
At this stage in my journey, I find myself shedding the heavy, stagnant frequencies of old expectations, doubts, or the need to control the outcome. Instead, I am intentionally choosing to fill my energetic space with:
Presence: Being fully anchored in the beauty of the now.
Flow: Trusting the divine timing of the universe and allowing the current of life to carry me where I am needed most.
Radiance: Allowing my inner light to shine unconditionally, offering healing and warmth to everyone I encounter.

As I step across the threshold into this new year, my birthday prayer and intention is simple: May I continue to be a clear, open vessel for love, light, and healing.
